With the recent controversy surrounding Jermaine Dupri stating that the newer female artists sound like strippers. Cardi B. listed a few reasons why the mainstream female rappers have been pushed but also gave a list of dope female m.c.’s whose subject matter is more in depth. She also issued a challenge to bloggers that I took personal to find female rappers who can talk about different subjects and feature them on my platforms. Enter Che’ Noir. She caught my attention after being featured on DJ Premier’s show on Shade 45.
Hailing from Buffalo, NY, Che Noir delivers rapid-fire rhymes and real-life topics that sound like she’s been transplanted from the year she was born: 1994. Classic hip-hop flavor with relevance, Che is exactly what the world needs. She raps, she produces, she brings light to issues that need discussing, especially in the current state of our nation. The Thrill of the Hunt II, her third mixtape, is available now on DatPiff, Spinrilla, and SoundCloud. (taken for Che' Noir's website)
Che’ Noir has appeared on Kool G Rap’s album Son of G Rap on a track called Young 1s. Her frequent collaborations with 38 Spesh on his album 5 Shots Sharp Steel and his latest project Trust 3 song called Trust reminds the listener of Jean Grae’s chemistry with Talib Kweli. She has also worked with rappers Ryan on Medz and Chill, Coach Hilson on My First Lick and singer Taryn on her song called The Reason.
Take some time out to listen to her mixtape Thrill of the Hunt where she raps over a few of hip-hops classic beats. Follow her on Instagram @che_noir and her websites for release dates of new music check out her website http://che-noir.com/.
